what started it all

Four years ago, ministry was not my plan at all. Freshman year of high school, I decided that I wanted to go to a completely different college and pursue a degree in Elementary Education. I’m honestly not sure why I decided that. There was no specific reason, and I never felt like the Lord was calling me to do that. I guess I just kind of chose it. That plan totally changed, though, in February of 2019 when my mom and I attended a women’s conference at our local church. There were three amazing women that spoke at this two-day conference: Gretchen Foster, Lysa TurKeurst, and Mo Isom, and each of them were so inspiring (I highly recommend checking out their websites and books!). After this conference, I knew that I wanted to pursue ministry for the rest of my life - and more importantly, I knew that ministry was what God wanted me to pursue for the rest of my life. That has made all the difference in the world. From then on, I really gained a love for knowledge and for teaching. I attended a Classical Christian private school from 8th-12th grade, and that environment along with the teachers and the content I was taught really fueled my love for learning. Especially the classes and teachers I had junior and senior years. This was when my passion for literature - Christian literature in particular - grew so much. Those two years shaped me as a person more than any others in my life. In the future, i’m not totally sure exactly what I am going to be doing career wise, but I want to teach about the Lord. That may be from the pulpit of a church preaching sermons, or the head of a classroom teaching about the great pioneers of the faith or our Lord’s creation in a biology or anatomy class. But no matter what, or all, of that I do, I want to do it all for the glory of God. And this website is my starting place. Here you will find traditional blog-style posts (think of these as mini-sermons written rather than spoken), some basic Christianity knowledge for those who are new to the faith, and some further encouragement (a compilation of my favorite songs, books, poems, and quotes that have been especially influential in my walk with Christ). So, venture on over to these sections, and enjoy! I’m confident that you will find something that the Lord will use to encourage you. Happy reading!
